I recently organised an International Tax Workshop for clients where I ran across Martin Aimes managing director of Sweatbox Boutique Leisure Centres Ltd. It will be recalled from Part 2 of this diary (The Tax Journal 17 September 2007) that this is a listed client company with leisure centres across the UK that at the time was expanding into The Netherlands. Martin is the son of the original founder of the business. Martin's active participation in the workshop reminded me that he was previously a tax lawyer in a magic circle firm and that he likes to keep up with developments.
