The Committee resumed on Tuesday 9 June. The Government was represented by Kitty Ussher who had been appointed as Exchequer Secretary since the Committee's previous sitting succeeding Angela Eagle who had been moved to the Department for Work and Pensions along with Yvette Cooper who had introduced the Bill in her previous role as Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Ms Ussher commented:
