This table summarises the standard rates of VAT currently in force in each member state as well as other useful information such as their VAT registration distance selling and intrastat thresholds.
The standard rates of VAT around the EU have remained virtually unchanged in the last year with only Luxembourg raising its rate (from 15% to 17%) at the start of 2015. Other countries have made some tweaks to their reduced rates during that time and Latvia and Lithuania have recast some of their thresholds since joining the euro.
The main changes since this table was last published lie with intrastat. Several member states have now taken advantage of the EU’s reduction of the percentage coverage of compulsory intrastat arrivals data collection (from 95% to 93% of the value of intra-EU trade). Sweden Belgium...
