Sometimes it seems as if the whole world is pressing companies to introduce share schemes.
 
It is bad enough that every accountant and lawyer around seems to be pushing them. It gets appreciably worse when extra pressure is put on by the Government and the Inland Revenue. This happened last year when the latter launched its publicity initiative to boost take-up of Share Incentive Plans.
 
Sadly the Inland Revenue's view of the effectiveness and cost of such schemes for smaller companies differs significantly from reality. It may sound hard to believe but I was literally turning clients away telling...
