Ecuador signs multilateral convention on tax matters

printer Mail

Ecuador has signed the OECD’s ‘Multilateral convention on mutual administrative assistance in tax matters’, bringing to 126 the number of jurisdictions participating in the convention.

The convention is the key instrument for implementation of the CRS and provides for all forms of administrative assistance in tax matters: exchange of information on request, spontaneous exchange, automatic exchange, tax examinations abroad, simultaneous tax examinations and assistance in tax collection.

Ecuador has also signed the CRS multilateral competent authority agreement (CRS MCAA), allowing it to activate bilateral exchange relationships for automatic exchange of financial account information under the multilateral convention.
