When a company finds itself in a dispute that may lead to litigation the first person to get a call is obviously the lawyer. If the lawyer needs technical help he or she will in turn call other professionals. Forensic accountants have an obvious role to play in cases where fraud is suspected. Tax accountants bring specialist knowledge to bear particularly in international tax disputes. And most lawyers these days would call in economists where the issue is to do with competition policy.
