HMRC has published further new and updated guidance for imports, exports and customs to reflect the post-transition period regime:

  • Claiming tariff quotas to reduce import duties: new guidance on claiming tariff quotas to reduce import duties.
  • UK Trade Tariff: trader entry of customs data into CHIEF: updated to reflect new payment arrangements for the Flexible Accounting System (FAS) and a slight amendment to the contact address for guaranteed cheque or bankers draft payments for the FAS.
  • Notices made under the Customs (Special Procedures and Outward Processing) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018: text with force of law by virtue of reg 7(3) has been added.
  • Moving excise goods as freight under the Northern Ireland Protocol from 1 January 2021: information about applying for a voluntary clearance amendment (underpayment) has been added.
  • Customs Declaration Service communication pack: an updated version of the ‘Customs Declaration Service stakeholder toolkit’ has been published and a new ‘Key differences between CHIEF and the Customs Declaration Service’ section has been added to the page.
  • Notices made under the Customs (Import Duty) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018: a new entry has been added in the ‘Rail Depots – Rolling Stock’ section of the notices.
