13 September 2005 was Chartered Tax Adviser Day a fact which may have escaped the England cricketers on their bus journey through London — some of them to be fair may not have noticed a 60-foot penguin washing itself in one of the Trafalgar Square fountains — but nevertheless it formed a significant landmark within the CIOT's 75th anniversary celebrations. The day was rounded off with a tax debate along Question Time lines.
