The Commission’s proposed CCCTB Directive/the Franco-German CCTB: what does it all mean post the UK’s veto?
On 9 January the Danish Presidency announced their tax priorities for their current six month Presidency of the EU. This includes the CC(C)TB: ‘The Presidency will promote the Council’s consideration of the Commission proposal for a Common Corporate Tax Base...’ It is understood that the Council will hold an ‘orientation debate’ on 15 May 2012 to gauge support for both CCCTB (the common consolidated corporate tax base) and CCTB (the common corporate tax base).
In March 2011 23 Member States signed up to the Euro Plus Pact which included an undertaking to explore CCTB with a view to implementation as soon as possible....
