In the foreword to this book Sir David Tweedie the chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) notes that the size of a book comparing IFRS and US GAAP is a good measure of the achievement of standard setters in their efforts to converge and he hopes that the authors of such tomes will soon be out of work. Weighing in at just under 900 pages this book suggests that there is still some work to be done to reach the holy grail of common global accounting standards.
