Administration and appeals: Agent codes

Requests for agent codes and changes to agent details are now dealt with by a new 'Central Agent Authorisation Team' based in Longbenton Newcastle upon Tyne HMRC announced on 15 June. Agent codes are required before advisers can set up client authorisations using the HMRC online agent authorisation process or paper form 64-8. HMRC also notes that it is currently looking into the best ways to address any queries relating to the agent codes process and further information on this point is expected in due course.
