The UK government recently published two papers setting out its proposals for UK/EU customs relations post-Brexit. While these papers contain the greatest amount of detail to date in relation to the government’s thinking, they do of course only represent the start of the conversation rather than the final word and the government’s proposals raise many questions in practice. Businesses should carefully study the proposals in light of their own particular circumstances and consider how they may contribute to the debate.
