The National Insurance Contributions (Reduction in Rates) (No. 2) Bill passed all remaining stages in the House of Lords on 19 March 2024 without debate. According to the House of Lords calendar, ‘Royal Assent’ was due to be given at 3pm on Wednesday 20 March 2024. Although the calendar did not suggest which piece of legislation was to be given assent (as is almost always the case), it seems highly likely that the NICs Bill will be enacted, given the expedited timetable.
